The Engaged Event- What It Is and Why You Should Come

We have received a few questions asking about The Engaged Event and what it is exactly and wanted to share more about it here.

A little backstory, my husband and I created The Engaged Event in 2018. It was actually an idea and a dream that I had for several years prior to that, but there were a lot of logistical details to work out prior to launching it.  My team (shown above, Lauren on the far left and Keely on the right) helped so much in making the first event happen. They encouraged me, supported me, took care of a lot of details on the day of, and more. They have helped with other past events in different capacities and I am so grateful for that.

To make a long story short, I have planned hundreds of weddings over the past 14 years. And I have seen couples spend months and months and months planning their wedding, with very little planning to the actual marriage, what the wedding is all about. And my husband has been in full-time ministry for the past 14 years and has led dozens of engaged couples through pre-marital counseling sessions. Through all of this, we have a deep passion for engaged couples and to help them build a strong foundation for their marriage.

The Engaged Event is one day event that helps engaged couples plan a MARRIAGE more beautiful than their WEDDING. We have partnered with Dr. Kim Kimberling of Awesome Marriage who leads the main sessions. He speaks on communication, finances, sex, spirituality, in-laws, conflict resolution and more. Basically, anything important in a marriage, he talks about it.

The feedback from the past 3 events have been really great. We have received some “constructive criticism” that has actually been very helpful as it has made future events better. Here are a few images from our first event at Coles Garden in March 2019:

Our next event was the Fall of 2019, and it was at High Pointe Mansion, that is no longer a wedding/event venue. It was a beautiful space for The Engaged Event though.

Our third event was March 2020 (right before the Coronavirus outbreak). It was at The Baumberhof in Edmond and was a really great turnout.

Our 4th Event was scheduled for the end of March 2020 at The Barn at Grace Hill near Wichita, Kansas but we had to postpone it until all of the Covid-19 stuff gets better. Our next event is currently scheduled for July 19th at Spain Ranch in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We are still hoping that it is able to happen and not get postponed.

We also have a 5th event scheduled in September in Dallas, Texas. We are really excited about that one at Davis & Grey Farms.

We are also very excited to announce our first {Virtual} Engaged Event that is coming up very soon on May 16th. It will take place online from 10:00-12:00 and then you have your own personal lunch break until 1:00. And the next sessions go from 1:00-3:00. Everything is broken into 20 minute increments so it will go by fast and be fun! You can register for that event here.

We would love for you to come to our {Virtual} Engaged Event on May 16th, or have you come to one of our live events in Tulsa in July or Dallas in September.
